Itinerary in Detail

Arrival Day: Arrive in Tanzania

Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be welcomed by a representative from Cami Safari and Tours and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. After check-in, you will have time to relax and prepare for your safari. In the evening, your safari guide will provide a briefing about the itinerary, activities, and preparations for the following days.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we depart from Arusha and drive toward Tarangire National Park.Tarangire is well known for its large elephant populations, magnificent baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, and diverse wildlife. Upon entering the park, we begin our game drive through the beautiful landscapes in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, lions, and various bird species. We enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated location before continuing our afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon, we leave the park and proceed to our campsite.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara – Karatu

After breakfast, we depart for the Lake Manyara area. Depending on the safari route and park conditions, we may enjoy a game drive in or around Lake Manyara National Park. The park is known for its beautiful scenery, diverse birdlife, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and other wildlife. The park is also famous for its large soda lake and scenic surroundings at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. After the day’s activities, we continue toward the Karatu area near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we leave Karatu and travel toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey takes us through the spectacular landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before reaching the vast Serengeti plains. As we enter the Serengeti, we begin our game drive toward the Seronera area. The Serengeti is famous for its abundant wildlife and the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. Depending on the season and location, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and many other species. We continue our game drive until late afternoon before heading to our campsite.

Day 4: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a full-day game drive in the magnificent Serengeti National Park. After an early breakfast, we depart with packed lunch and explore different areas of the park. Your experienced safari guide will select suitable areas based on wildlife movements, seasonal conditions, and your interests. The Serengeti offers exceptional opportunities to observe predators and prey in their natural environment. You may see lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the game drive before continuing our exploration of the Serengeti. In the late afternoon, return to your campsite for dinner and relaxation.

Optional Activity: A Serengeti Balloon Safari can be arranged at an additional cost, subject to availability and weather conditions.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, we enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before beginning our journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The morning is an excellent time for wildlife viewing, as many animals are active during the cooler hours. As we leave the Serengeti, we continue through the Ngorongoro highlands, enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes. We arrive at our campsite near the Ngorongoro Crater rim and have time to relax and prepare for the following day’s crater experience.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, we descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. The crater floor supports a high concentration of wildlife, providing excellent opportunities for game viewing. During the game drive, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, and many bird species. After enjoying a picnic lunch, we begin our ascent from the crater and start our journey back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be dropped off at your hotel, airport, or another agreed location. Your 6-Day Tanzania Camping Safari comes to an end with Cami Safari and Tours.
