Experience the remote beauty and incredible landscapes of Mount Kilimanjaro on this exciting 6-Day Kilimanjaro Climbing Rongai Route with Cami Safari and Tours. The Rongai Route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side of the mountain, close to the Tanzania–Kenya border. It is known for its quieter trails, scenic wilderness, and relatively gradual ascent compared with some of the other routes. The route offers a unique perspective of Kilimanjaro and passes through several distinct vegetation zones, from cultivated land and rainforest to moorland, alpine desert, and the Arctic zone near the summit. This 6-day itinerary provides an adventurous Kilimanjaro experience with overnight stays in mountain camps and a challenging summit attempt at Uhuru Peak, 5,895 metres above sea level.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Cami Safari and Tours and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. You will have time to relax and prepare for the upcoming climb. In the evening, you will meet your mountain guide for a detailed briefing. Your guide will review the trekking itinerary, check your equipment, and explain important information about altitude, safety, weather, and the summit attempt.

The Rongai Route is known for its quieter trails and distinctive approach from the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. The route offers beautiful views and a gradual ascent, although the summit day remains physically demanding. Weather conditions on Mount Kilimanjaro can change quickly. Climbers should be prepared for different conditions ranging from warm and humid weather in the lower forest to very cold temperatures at higher elevations. We recommend bringing suitable hiking boots, warm and waterproof clothing, gloves, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a headlamp, a comfortable daypack, and other essential trekking equipment. Cami Safari and Tours can arrange trekking equipment rental for travelers who prefer to rent equipment rather than purchase and carry everything from home. For travelers who prefer additional acclimatization time, longer Kilimanjaro itineraries can be arranged. Other routes, including Machame, Lemosho, Marangu, and Northern Circuit, are also available.
