If you have limited time in Tanzania and experiencing the Big Five is on your bucket list, then this affordable 4-Day Tanzania Camping Safari is an ideal safari program for you. Most of our short Tanzania safari tours start and end in Arusha or Moshi. This safari takes you on an unforgettable journey through the legendary Serengeti National Park and the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and unforgettable African experiences.

How to Get There

This safari starts and ends in Arusha or Moshi. Cami Safari and Tours can assist you with selecting suitable international flights, although you will need to make the flight booking yourself. You can fly to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), located near Arusha and Moshi.  Airport transfers to and from the airport can be arranged at an additional cost.
Additional accommodation before and after the safari can also be arranged at an additional cost.

Itinerary in Detail

 Arrival Day: Arrive in Tanzania

Upon arrival in Tanzania, you will be met and picked up by Cami Safari and Tours. You will be transferred to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay at a comfortable mid-range hotel or lodge.

Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Today, we travel to Serengeti National Park**, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations and home to the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration. Upon entering the park, we begin our game drive as we make our way toward the campsite near the Seronera River. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a full-day game drive in the magnificent Serengeti National Park. With approximately 14,000 square kilometres of wilderness to explore, the Serengeti offers exceptional opportunities to encounter some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife. Your experienced safari guide will take you to different areas of the park in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, leopards, cheetahs and many other species.

Optional Activity: Balloon Safari can be arranged at an additional cost.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

We rise early in the morning in the Serengeti, taking advantage of the early hours when many animals are most active. Enjoy a morning game drive before continuing your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon, we proceed toward the Ngorongoro Crater and arrive at our campsite on the crater rim, located at approximately 2,300 metres above sea level. Temperatures can be chilly at night, so warm clothing is recommended.

Day 4: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

After breakfast, we descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. We spend up to six hours on a game drive inside the crater, exploring this vast natural caldera and searching for its abundant wildlife. The crater is home to approximately 30,000 resident animals, providing excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, flamingos and many other species. In the late afternoon, we begin our journey back to Arusha, where the safari ends.
